Gold King Mine

Jerome was once a very prosperous copper mining town.  When investors opened a second mine in nearby Haynes, Arizona they struck gold.  The mine was never as prosperous as the larger copper mine but it did produce a fair amount of gold.  The Gold King Mine is now surrounded by a very large and interesting junk yard.  It is a photographer's paradise.  Several world-renowned photographers have done photo shoots here.
